A materialistic worldview tends to diminish or ignore that which the Bible gives clear testimony to: the spiritual realm. In times such as these, when people are increasingly polarized over politics and societal dogmas, and enduring relentless waves of hardship, grief and loss, we are tempted to fight the flesh. We want to respond, to ‘get in the game’ if you will, lest we be overcome by evil. The danger today is to fight the wrong battle and so lose the war. If we are to ‘stand in the evil day’ it is because we fight in the spiritual realm. This sermon was preached on August 29th, 2021 at St Jude’s Anglican Church in Huntersville, NC.
