This should have been posted last week if we were to keep chronological progression with the letter. In this, the second episode on Galatians chapter 3, we focus on the juxtaposition between promise and law as taught by the Apostle. If salvation is according to the promise, then why the law? This is a poignant question for those under pressure to add Jewish law-keeping to faith in the Messiah. After all, why would God establish Mosaic authority if the whole of our salvation is to be received by faith in the promise? Because of evil! The law was given to restrain evil and to uphold concepts of cleanliness, purity and holiness.
