Why does it matter that the Gospel is rooted in the promises of God rather than laws and rules for living? In Galatians chapter 3, Paul makes a big deal about Jews and Gentiles as heirs of the promise of God made to Abraham. In this way all persons, not just the people of God as understood in Paul’s day (the Jews, the people of Israel), but the gentiles also, were children of the promise, heirs of God in Jesus Christ.
