Bringing Titus, the Greek convert to Christianity, to Jerusalem, the heart of Jewish life, faith and worship, is central to Paul’s argument for salvation apart from the law. While in Jerusalem Paul writes about a tense encounter with those who sought to usurp Christian freedom in Christ. A clandestine plot was in play to bring Christians back under a yoke of slavery. The language is emphatic. This was a threat to the truth of the Gospel entrusted to Paul. Join me in reflecting on the importance of Titus’s trip to Jerusalem in Galatians chapter 2.
