Kind providence has led us to Pentecost Sunday. If ever we needed a filling of the Spirit of God it is now. But what is the work of the Holy Spirit? Some of the first works of the Holy Spirit of God are repentance and faith (John 16:9). It is the Holy Spirit that convicts the world of sin and leads us to the grace, power and glory of God in the person of Jesus Christ. Search our hearts, O God! Send for the Holy Spirit to convict us of sin and lead us in righteousness. This sermon was preached at St Jude’s Anglican Church by Clay Thompson on Sunday, May 31st, 2020.
