Before we wade deeper into the controversial waters of divine election, let us remember the joy of drinking from the fountain of life. Its interesting that this section (Romans chapters 9 through 11) begins with a moving testimony of love for the the Jewish people (9:1-5) and ends with one of the most poetic doxologies in all of scripture (11:33-36). I think it best that we remain there until we can share Paul’s love for the world (born of God) and reverent fear of the God who orders all things according to the good pleasure of His will. Lets learn to study theology with a heart full of doxology. This sermon was preached by Clay Thompson in Huntersville, NC, at St Jude’s Anglican Church on Sunday, September 22nd.
