I find it a bold confession for the Apostle Paul to say that “we do not know what to pray for as we ought” (Rom 8:26b). But well traveled pilgrims will agree. They’ve followed Jesus long enough to praise the Spirit for praying according to God’s will rather than their own. Indeed, one of the tremendous benefits as children of God is the intercession of the Holy Spirit. Paul specifically comforts the weak and the suffering with this remarkable encouragement; the Holy Spirit helps us pray. This sermon on Romans 8:26&27 was preached on August 18th, 2019 at St Jude’s in Huntersville, NC.
