I think all of us can relate to Lot’s wife. She shared the anxiety of a city given over to itself and ‘looked back’. She had no heavenly horizon. But a hearing of Hebrews 11:1-16 will remind us of the saints who persevered in faith, seeking for the city with foundations, whose designer and builder is God. What do you seek? Have you lost your heavenly horizon? The fruit of the Holy Spirit is a faith that bears the fruit of pursuit; pursuit of the heavenly city. This sermon was preached on Sunday, August 11th, 2019 at St Jude’s as the Church renewed its membership for the year.
